Change

Change. Coming back to Thacher after being away for three months, one cannot help but spot the changes. From changes in perception (like Casa looking so much smaller!) to huge, million-dollar architectural changes, the campus is a bit different. We have mostly the same cast of characters from last year (minus the seniors and plus the freshmen), but everyone is in a new role. The first week it was hard to remember that the sophomores were juniors or that we were now the sophomores. I had gone from being the freshmen asking questions to someone who was supposed to answer those questions. In the midst of these adjustments, we sophomore girls had the blessing and curse of moving into a new dorm. The process was stressful, I think on the night of the move the average amount of sleep was probably five hours, but every bit worth it. Now we are the lucky inhabitants of a brand-new, gorgeous dorm- I hate to even call it a dorm because it doesn’t even feel like one. With a giant kitchen, 12 washer/dryers, 8 showers, skylights, huge windows, singles, etc… it’s more like our little Castle on the Hill.
