How did you hear about Thacher? I heard about Thacher through an English teacher, who was taught high school English by a current teacher at Thacher.

What I like best about living and studying at Thacher? I like the sense of community that you feel here at Thacher the best. It is unlike anything I could have ever expected, everyone is excited to meet you, and get to know you as a person.

My favorite class at the moment is History is my favorite class at the moment. I have a great teacher who never fails to make the class interesting. This year already, we went into the Thacher archives and read documents from Thacher students who fought in World War I. Mr. McGowan constantly pushes me to become a better student and to look at both sides of the story. I love to see the world through the eyes of people who lived hundreds of years ago, and some that even sat in the same classroom as Thacher students are now.

People at Thacher- peers, schoolmates, faculty, staff and others- who have influenced me positively and how: All of my teachers have influenced me. They are all extremely excited to teach, and it makes it easier as a student to be eager to learn. Also, my prefect and dorm head have been great. I know I can go to them at any time of the day and night, and they will be there to support me.

Advice for someone thinking about going away to school or specifically coming to Thacher: Thinking about going to boarding school is a big decision, and can involve a fair amount of stress. I would suggest that you do your best to enjoy yourself during the application process. Be yourself at interviews, and find a school that you can imagine attending.
