This weekend has been so exciting for students on the Thacher campus! The Ojai Tennis Tournament was going on throughout Ojai and on campus, but other activities went on as well. This Friday night, our director of concerts and lectures, Mrs. Halsey, brought in Pentatonix to perform on our stage.  It was so amazing to more »

Singing in the Spring. That is, Spring Sing

This year, I am one of three directors of the spring musical called the Spring Sing. The Spring Sing is a completely student-run production, with one faculty advisor, where we can perform anything we want! I have been in the cast of the Spring Sing during my freshman and sophomore years, and last year, the more »

Curtains Up!

Just four days ago, the cast and crew took our bows for the final show of “Curtains,” our winter musical.  It is hard to believe that, after all that hard work over two months, it ended in just three nights of shows.  But what months those two were!  Although exhausting at times, it was such more »

Curtains

As soon as the curtains closed on our final production of the winter musical, Curtains, I felt both an immense weight lifted off my shoulders and overflow of emotions. Curtains was a musical like no other at Thacher; we had the biggest cast with the least amount of time. Since before winter break, the cast more »

Riding, Shooting, Singing

Recently, we had Big Gymkhana weekend. Being with Little Jo was fantastic and I am going to miss her so much. At the beginning of the year, I thought I could have practically picked out the gymkhana winners, but you never know until the season starts. There were people who hadn’t ridden before Thacher that more »

Music Under the Stars

The Toad Music Festival on Saturday was a huge success, spanning from four to nine o’clock at night! The Centennial Amphitheater was filled with cuddling Toads with blankets, almost-frenzied photo parents, and the Thacher community at large, who were eagerly cheering on the participants. The acts ranged from all-family music ensembles to solo songs to live jam sessions. more »

Great Singing Comes to Thacher

Last night, the Princeton Tigertones, an all-male a capella singing group, performed at Thacher. I was especially moved and inspired by their visit, as I am a member of the Thacher Chamber Singers Ensemble, and enjoy singing a capella every day. Before the Tigertones’ performance, I sat next to one of the singers at formal more »
