How did you hear about Thacher?
I heard about Thacher through a program called New Jersey SEEDS, this program helps high-achieving students attend some of the top schools in the country.

What I like best about living and studying at Thacher: I really enjoy dorm life at Thacher. Meeting new people who are genuinely interested in who you are is exciting and they soon become family. You also get a sense of freedom and responsibility, something you might have experienced before, but not in this way. All the staff really trust you to do the right thing and living with your friends influences you in such a positive and fun way.

My favorite class at the moment is English. I really enjoy being able to have discussions in class with each other; being able to share ideas and communicate in a new way really improves my writing by letting me see and understand different points of view.

People at Thacher – peers, schoolmates, faculty, staff and others – who have influenced me positively and how: My own classmates have influenced me to do better in school and to be an all around better person. Seeing other students eager to learn and do the right thing really influences me to do the same. They are also very supportive and always there for you in case you need anything, it may seem like you are alone but everyone is going through the same thing.

Advice for someone thinking about going away to school or specifically coming to Thacher: My advice for someone looking to go away for school is to be open minded, you never know what school you might fall in love with. Try visiting a variety of schools and take the time to analyze which one would be a better fit for you. Going away for school is a big decision and you want to find a school that will feel like your home away from home.
