As I wipe the sweat off my forehead I look over to the side and take in the gorgeous view that overlooks the newly developed upper field. I also notice my teammates, teachers, and fellow students cheering for me on the sidelines. At the end of the match we celebrate our big win with a loud THACHER! chant. Our captains, Cassie, Mackenzie and Marissa, all seniors, gather us in a circle off to the side. They each thank us for our hard work and continue to state how proud they are of all we have accomplished in this new league. Looking around I feel the nostalgia already taking over as soccer season comes to a close. We made it into the playoffs but this was the last league game we will play with the seniors representing Thacher on our home-field. Thinking about all our senior players moving on next year brings tears to my eyes. They are all so special and essential to not only our team but to us individually as well. They bring so much joy, energy, and positivty to each and every practice and game. I look up to them all and will truly miss them next year.  They all will be leaving big shoes to fill and I hope we will be able to make them proud next season.
