One question I frequently get asked about Thacher is, “What do you do on the weekends?” Recently, my weekends have been very entertaining! Last weekend, we had Santa Barbara night where all the students can take a bus into Santa Barbara to hang out with their friends, go out to dinner, and generally enjoy a different kind of scenery. Next weekend, there is the annual Mountain Film Festival, which is one of my favorite Thacher events. We get to enjoy short documentaries about nature and sports. We also have Toadfest coming up, which is a large music event where Thacher kids and their families can showcase talent. Besides those more unusual events, we can always go into Ojai to shop, do work, or eat. Planning your weekend at Thacher is a fun thing to do, and we don’t normally run short on choices!
