The days leading up to the Middle School Dorm Banquet were filled with happiness and sadness. Realizing how much I have overcome this year along with all the fun I have had made me excited for another year to begin. But knowing that my prefects would be leaving us this upcoming year made it hard to enjoy this celebration of a great year. Not only has Sarah, my main prefect, helped me and supported me in all aspects of my Thacher career. But all the prefects, Ellie, Maddie, Nan, and Gracie have made an impact as well. Whenever I was stressed about an essay or worried for a quiz they were always there to listen to me, and give me advice. Knowing that these girls were always available to help me really made my year here at Thacher a great one because I realized I was not alone. During the Banquet each prefect gave a speech about their prefectees and almost everyone was in tears by the end. The entire middle school dorm as a whole loves and supports each other so much and as happy as we are for our prefects to be going off to college, and starting a new chapter in their lives, we will miss them immensely. I can not thank my prefects and my advisor, Ms. McMahon, enough for all they have done for me this year. My dorm has created so many memories together this year and I will cherish those memories forever. As Dr.Seuss said, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
