So, here we are at the end of another Thacher year. A highlight of the end of the school year is always the dorm banquet, when all prefects, students, teachers, and advisors associated with the dorm gather to celebrate the year. This year, the girls’ banquets fell on a Monday. That night, we all assembled outside of the dorm common room and shared a meal. After dinner, we each toasted our prefects (or prefectees). These short speeches ranged from hilarious to emotional, but they were all quite touching. It is sad to say goodbye to these years’ seniors, as we junior girls have grown so close to our prefects. However, we are all excited for them to head off to college and all that that will entail. The dorm banquets at Thacher are indicative of how close each dorm community becomes over just a single school year. All our experiences together are culminated in this one night, a joyful and fun celebration.
