An Interesting Lacrosse Season

With a final record hovering around .500, the JV boys lacrosse team ended their season on Saturday. This was my second year on the team and possibly my last, with hopefully a call up to Varsity coming next year (however, this is rather unlikely).  Considering that we won a mere 1 game last year, I would consider this year a great success.  We had an up and down season but rallied in our two games and finished the year out with a pair of nice wins. We dominated a challenging, energetic San Marcos team, which was a huge morale boost to the team, which helped us beat the Ojai Valley School’s varsity team 6-3 on Saturday. With the addition of some extremely capable freshmen, and improvement from my fellow sophomores, our team was able to compete with some of the lower-level varsity teams, a feat which not many other JV teams can boast about. We lost to a talented Midland varsity team and hung around with some others, but regardless of our record, this past JV season was a whole lot of fun, and a season to remember for many years to come.
