The last trimester of the year is a bitter-sweet time. Seniors are choosing colleges and senior exhibition weekend is coming up, however, we all feel a bit melancholy as graduation approaches. However, as this great year is beginning to dwindle, I continue to find myself faced with new challenges. The most obvious new challenge is the new classes I am currently taking. I am especially excited about my new history class. I am studying Latin American history with Mr. Hooper and I look forward to the class everyday. Currently, we are writing research papers and I chose the Brazilian Rubber Boom as my topic. Although I enjoy researching a topic in-depth that was mentioned only briefly by our textbook, I miss the class discussions and the interesting readings we complete every night. I suppose that is the beauty of Thacher; having a class that is so enjoyable, you miss the homework and the class work.
