Thacher was the best choice of the high schools which I considered. Among the others I considered were the likes of Deerfield, Northfield Mount Hermon, Andover, Exeter etc. While looking at these other large institutions, I was impressed by their athletic facilities, dining halls,  as well as their student book stores. While all of these are very impressive when visiting a school, they are not what make one school better than another. During my second visit to Thacher, I met many remarkable people and got more of a sense for Thacher, but my true moment of realization came when I was moving into my room on the first day of school, freshman year. This day was special for many reasons, all of which have improved over time. I began to feel how friendly people are here, and how everyone is looking to help one another. Sophomore year rolled around, I shed the tag of a freshman and I came back to campus more excited than ever for school. I am sure that Thacher will only get better from here and I can’t wait to experience this firsthand.
