Catchin’ Some Z’s

The days of being tired are over! Over the past few days, since break has ended, I have had many opportunities to make good decisions about my rest. In the past, I may have ignored those opportunities in favor of watching an episode or two of my favorite TV show, Covert Affairs. However, I had an epiphany over winter break. During the time that I was at home, I got at least 10 hours of sleep every night and felt great every morning. When I came back to Thacher, I decided to continue this trend by staying on East Coast Time as long as possible, and as the days passed it changed to “I will do my homework, then I will sleep so that I can wake up to muck tomorrow and feel refreshed.” Lo and behold, it worked. A week later, I don’t regret a minute of it. So, my advice to all applicants: get as much sleep as you can when you come here. It is amazing what an extra half hour of sleep each night can do to your next day. However, still leave enough time to have fun with friends, do homework, and spend time with your horse. I sure know firsthand, you won’t regret it.
