I can’t believe how fast the weeks go by here at Thacher! How is it possible that we are about to begin Thanksgiving Break? In just these first few months of Thacher, I have accomplished so many new things that I never would have been able to do if I weren’t here.  One thing that I probably would not have tried if not for Thacher is art. As freshmen you take three different intro classes: art, drama, and chorus. For the first trimester, I was in art. I have never considered myself particularly gifted at drawing or anything of the sort, so the idea of art class was not my favorite at first. Surprisingly, I have ended up thoroughly enjoying the class, and Mrs. Mahoney’s (my teacher) cultivation of whatever skill I brought to the course three months ago, has really helped me improve. I am glad that I had the opportunity to do something that I would not have necessarily done otherwise.
