Busy as Ever!

This trimester has been busy and its now wrapping up with numerous class projects and exams, as well as the transition to the next semester of sports. In U.S. history class, taught by Mr. Carney, one of our projects to finish the trimester was an oral presentation on a historic election of our choice. Oral presentations always make me nervous, but this was a fun research project to work on and I learned so much about my election (1912). With this, we also wrote an essay about two key issues of the 2012 election, also of our choosing. This is the first election where I feel I am educated on each candidates’ platform and can formulate an opinion on my own. We celebrated the completion of our final history assignments with a pizza party at his house, while watching the election results. In Spanish class, I am currently working on a group research presentation about Fidel Castro. Doing a research project for a language class is far more difficult, but really improves my reading and comprehension skills by doing research in Spanish. This past weekend was a lot of work for the first English riding competition, which Thacher hosted on Saturday. In addition to this being my first competition ever, the entire English team had tons of work to do with hosting- tending to the horses and other riders. With break soon approaching, I’m eager to complete all of the remaining work before some rest and look forward to another great trimester.
