Practica, Practica, Practica

As a junior, there’s been plenty of work from all of my classes. Right now, I’m taking Spanish 4 and though it is rigorous, I appreciate the ability to practice it to the point that it becomes instinct. Right now, we’re learning about the dictatorship in Argentina by reading testimonies and watching film. Language classes are entirely in that language (for all years). At first it is difficult to get used to, but I more easily learn vocabulary and become accustomed to hearing Spanish. Our current project is writing a letter from the perspective of the victims based on our research. Also, we practice the language in casual conversations, which helps us practice. At this point, I feel more comfortable with the language. Another great thing about language classes is that there are students from all different grades, rather than just the junior class, who I see in most of my other classes. A variety allows for different viewpoints and more places to seek help. Spanish class is about vocabulary, improving grammar, and, of course, practice.
