Playing for Change: Music for Music Education!

Two weeks ago, Thacher did something called the Thacher Plays For Change Concert. It was a concert to support the Play For Change Foundation, and we joined 330 other events going on around the world in 52 different countries on that day. The concert was put on by two of my classmates, Shelby Luce and Ellie Hancock. A bunch of people performed on the Libbey Bowl stage, including me! I got to sing with the Thacher Chamber Singers, and I could not have been more excited! The Thacher Jazz Band also played along with two seniors, Nan and Evan, and alum, Will Sturgen CdeP 2008. We all performed and then the two main artists, Megan Slankard and Robert Francis, sang an hour set list each. It was a fun outing that the whole school and the community could go to. It was so much fun to attend and know that I was supporting music education in other countries. We raised a lot of money, and got to enjoy music by some amazing artists at the same time! I am so proud of my fellow classmates who were able to put it together!!
