A couple of days ago, I was talking to a friend back home who was telling me how her phone had been stolen while she was at school. Her story and frustration reminded me of how unique Thacher is and how grateful I am for our honor code. At Thacher, students leave their laptops all over campus from the dining hall to the library knowing their belongings will be there when they return. Secondly, I casually leave my phone in the common room of our dorm and have never even thought that it might be stolen. In addition, none of the rooms are locked and to my knowledge nothing has ever been stolen in our dorm. This track record is a testament to how deeply the honor code compliments our every day life. After I hung up the phone I once again realized how lucky I am to go to Thacher!
