Weekend Activites: From Pentatonix to Diamond Hitch

This weekend has been so exciting for students on the Thacher campus! The Ojai Tennis Tournament was going on throughout Ojai and on campus, but other activities went on as well.

This Friday night, our director of concerts and lectures, Mrs. Halsey, brought in Pentatonix to perform on our stage.  It was so amazing to see this a capella  group sing some well-known songs for us. Before the concert, there was a workshop open for students to come and ask the group questions about anything. We also got to learn the Pentatonix version of “Somebody That I Used To Know.” It was so exciting to get to learn and sing in front of this inspiring group!!

On Saturday, we had an Iron Chef competition where groups of students got to cook a meal for some student judges. We also had Southern Night when we could dress in our southern gear and go out to the Pergola to dance to a live band and play fun games. At around 10PM, the Junior class walked out to a nearby camping spot called Diamond Hitch. There, we stayed the night and had some class bonding around a campfire with a guitar, ukulele, singing, s’mores, and hot chocolate. It was a fun experience to have as a class.
