A little while ago, we had the second annual Thacher music festival here on campus. TOADfest is a performance festival that is open to anyone: students, alumni, parents, families, and teachers and we all come together to enjoy the talent within the Thacher community. It was so exciting to see people perform, and everyone did a great job. I was so happy to sing with the choir, by myself, and with one other friend! This year, we had a competition aspect for those interested. The competition was in two categories: songwriting and performance. I was so excited to participate in the contest with an original song of mine, because the top five performers won a meeting with a representative from a music company and the chance to record a track!! Sadly, I didn’t win, but I was so happy to have the chance to sing my song for everyone. I can’t wait for next year, and if we have another contest, I am determined to try again!
