And Beyond…

Just before we left for winter break I found out where I’ll be going to college. This sudden news brought an incredible onslaught of both joy sadness. I was ecstatic to be done with the almost year long college application process (a struggle you might be going through now) and the fact that I was going to my dream school. But this same news trigger a certain sentimental sadness in me. I realized for the first time; I will not going to be here next year. Though sometimes Ojai can feel a little small and the “Thacher Bubble”, I will for sure miss this place. This sentiment has brought an entirely new perspective as I return from winter break.
I know try and stay out for wandering as long as I can, talking with friends in the dining hall, cooking chocolate chip pancakes in the kitchen. (Wandering if a FANTASTIC senior privilege that allows you to leave your dorm after check in and hang out around campus unsupervised.) I’ve also begun to really enjoy the sweet California sunshine and take advantage of Thacher’s amazing campus/location. The trails behind us and small (but quaint) town offer hours of amusement. And last, I’ve decided to savor each moment in the classroom because I know that college will be completely different.
