A big part of feeling at home at boarding school is perfecting your dorm room. Even though you don’t spend that much time in your room, your room is your “home base,” and making it just as you like it can have a big influence on your boarding school life. This past weekend, I finally finished decorating my room! I finally bought a chair to fill that empty corner. I put up posters that had been lying under my bed. I hung up some extra lights. Overall, I am very satisfied with the results! Now, whenever I walk into my room, I feel like I have entered my very own space in the midst of busy Thacher life. I believe it is very important for everyone to have at least a small space to call their own and to organize as they wish. It gives us a sense of control and semblance after a busy day, somewhere where we can organize our thoughts and just be alone.
