November!

We’ve just had our Parent’s Weekend and it was a blast! My parents found the time to come all the way up from Hong Kong, so that was a nice surprise. The entire campus was busting with activity, and I managed to find time to spend with my parents.

Other than that, it’s been a standard week for us here at Thacher. We’re having our Cross Country league championship today at Midland, a three hour drive away. Things should get exciting there. Schoolwork has been completely manageable, with the most interesting assignment currently being the novel we’re reading in English, 1984 by George Orwell.  The book is about a 39-year old man living in a totalitarian world, where Earth has been split up into three countries. The government keeps a tight hold on its subjects, but Winston, the protagonist, looks to see who is willing to stand up to the government and change the world while trying to survive. It’s becoming a very interesting read. Until next time!
