Politics as usual

November has ushered in a new cold front, the temperature dipping well into the forties this week. Clouds creep up the valley and the rain has begun to pour. Unfortunately, softened by the California sunshine, I sit freezing in the library as I prepare for this week’s workload. Right now, I’m working on a project for AP Government while our teacher is traveling across Asia on behalf of the school. The project is to design a political campaign for an underdog candidate in the Republican primary race. It is our job to create a television ad, pamphlet, poster, and logo. Along with two other students, I’m working on Herman Cain’s political campaign, doing our best to demonstrate our knowledge and political savvy to help his campaign. It is also our job to counteract any potential attacks other groups might throw at us, while still maintaining good publicity. Though I’m not sure political campaigns are in my future, I enjoy the opportunity for legal mudslinging.
