The blossoming of the orange trees surrounding campus marks the start of tennis season. Tennis, coinciding with the return of pool weather, signals the return of the age old phrase, “suns out, guns out.” Yesterday, I pulled on my Nike half-calfs (integral in the establishment of a nice sock tan), grabbed my rackets, and ran down to the tennis courts. Though we lost several important teams members last year, the new team is shaping up to be quite good. We were thankfully able to steal a couple LAX players who are now comprising our 1 and 2 doubles team. Despite initially being coined a “young team”, I think this “young team” will produce some a solid record of wins this year.
