Artistic Decompression

It’s a constant challenge to keep up at Thacher, and students often complain of lack of ‘free time.’ I was recently gifted a free Wednesday afternoon, I had little homework, no games to attend, and I didn’t have to ride. With a few free hours, what in the world was I to do with myself?
Everyone has his or her own way of decompressing. Some prefer to zone out in front of the T.V., while others like to go on a relaxing run. I prefer to paint. Yes, with a brush, some water, and color! One of the advantages of attending Thacher is that the classrooms are never locked, giving me free access to the fully stocked art studio. So I put on my smock, opened up itunes, and sat down to paint. A free afternoon of just letting the creative juices flow set the stage for a relaxing evening an excellent rest of the week. Even though those few decompressing hours are rare, when the opportunity is posed, it is always well welcomed!
