I started writing jazz melodies to published poetry in 2009, using the poetry as lyrics, and worked with a great band. We put on 4 concerts, and last September, we brought the band to Thacher and put on a concert in the Milligan Performing Arts Center. The students seemed to enjoy it, and we got a nice compliment from Michael. Although our music professor in 1949, Michael Erhardt, never liked jazz much, he was a great inspiration to me and many classmates. I can still play some of the original music he wrote for the school production of Henry V.
