A busy year. “Saints, Statues, and Stories: A Folklorist Looks at The Religious Art of Sonora” was published by the University of Arizona Press, and October 11-13 will see the 45th year of Tucson Meet Yourself, the regional folklife festival that Loma and I founded. Avery Hellman ’11

After some less formal gigs, Avery had one of her first actual concerts in June. Performing at Smiley’s Saloon and Hotel in Bolinas, California—with the stage name Ismay—Avery describes her music as ethereal folk music. Avery Hellman CdeP 2011
