Had a great visit with new Director of Alumni Relations Carolyn Reed Kirkpatrick ’86 at October’s Alumni Council meeting during Trustee weekend. Carolyn is Thacher physics teacher Don Reed’s daughter.
While a student, I learned valuable riding lessons from Carolyn. I had been struggling with my horse as a new rider, getting more frustrated and handling the horse roughly.
I discovered how to be patient and gentle with my horse by watching her, at around 3 years old, nudge her horse forward with a slight tap of her heels on the top of the fender of the saddle.
