Another year in Bakersfield down and another to go. We had another very exciting March Madness, with the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners (Go Runners!) making it to the NIT semifinals at Madison Square Garden in NYC. We were the first ever 8 seed to do so after wins on the road in three time zones against Cal, Colorado State and UT Arlington. (My husband is the first assistant.) I can wholeheartedly say Caleb (7), Cooper (4) and I have fully assimilated to the Bakersfield life. We even turned down a job as head coach at CSU Monterey Bay in May for another year here. I’m still working as a home health physical therapist thankful for a job that allows me to fly off all around the country to watch basketball.
