Work with the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation’s Spill Prevention and Response Division is never dull. I recently worked on the removal of the tug Challenger from the Gastineau Channel with the Coast Guard and other governmental agencies. As Deputy State on Scene Coordinator for the project, I was the main point of contact for environmental concerns in an over 2 million dollar project. I am glad that we were able to safely remove 700 lbs. of marine batteries, asbestos, and 500 gallons of diesel from the environment. Especially due to the close proximity of the fish hatchery.

Jeffry and I continue to enjoy living in Alaska and exploring the beautiful state. We encourage people to visit.
