My work with the Passamaquoddy Indian tribe continues. The current contract with my non-profit, Projects, Inc., ends in late 2016; however, we are applying for continued grant funding that will allow the tribe to build two maple syrup processing operations on their tribal lands where most of them live. This could take us another 2 – 3 years which is consistent even with a European business model that looks for profitability in 3 – 5 years from start up. The Passamaquoddy are a hard working people where everyone has a voice. There is plenty to learn from a culture that is 6,000 years old and a population that is all cousins with a great sense of humor!
