Hello all,

Unlike 2013 when our activities were somewhat slowed by my wife’s foot surgery, 2014 was a totally different year. In early March we made a trip to San Antonio, Texas and enjoyed the River Walk and the Nimitz Museum at nearby Fredericksburg. The weather was iffy but the restaurants were good. In late April we ventured to Norfolk Virginia, at the invitation of the MacArthur Memorial Museum. I belong to a group here on the West Coast named BACEPOW which stands for Bay Area Civilian EX-Prisoners of War and we spent three wonderful days listening to a variety of speakers and a weekend that culminated in a tremendous display of a Military Tattoo, a series of fantastic marchers and bagpipes you would be proud of. In late May we took a trip to a bucket spot we had had in our mind for several years called Key West Florida. A wonderful laid-back town that allowed us to see the Truman Florida White House, Ernest Hemingway’s home, and a variety of wonderful daytime bands and music you cannot believe. In June we were thrilled to attend my 65th reunion at Thatcher and see some wonderful friends. July found us in the California Delta where we spent a wonderful 10 days with our grandchildren. We look forward to a week in Carmel at our timeshare in late October and hope to see some good friends and classmates then.
