I finished my Ph.D at UC Irvine in 2008 and immediately shifted focus to caring for my father, then my mother, at their retirement home near New Haven, CT. During that time, I started developing a large educational software system to make learning more game-like and interactive for students, while providing educators with real-time assessments.

That project is still a long-term goal, but I put it on the back burner last year to renew my old real estate broker license to find residential and commercial properties for a wealthy friend and client. The skills I learned in eight years of grad school have proven surprisingly useful in my real estate business. Of course those skills were built on a strong foundation at Thacher, for which I am forever grateful.
