Chuck recently founded a scholarship at the University of Arizona to honor not only his own passion for photography and the optical sciences, but also his father’s support for the field of medicine. The DeMund Foundation Graduate Student Scholarship in Optical and Medical Sciences just named its first winner who is developing new methods to detect a painful—and difficult to diagnose—gastrointestinal illness in its early stages.
